What is Kyorugi?
Kyorugi is taekwondo’s sparring discipline and one of its best-known competitive forms — two athletes face each other using speed, accuracy, technique, power, and split-second judgment.
Athletes must manage distance, timing, and position while executing attack and defense correctly. Every move needs control, and fast reactions to changing exchanges are essential at the elite level.
Kyorugi is not only physical competition — it combines skill, focus, strategy, and mental readiness that can flip a match in an instant.
